MASH joins forces with ASBO, PINK to help the community

As Thanksgiving approaches, MASH has ramped up their efforts to give back to the community of Albany by partnering with several organizations on campus. Recently, a partnership with ASBO (Albany Sports Business Organization) and PINK UAlbany has incentived students to give back to the community by donating canned goods and clothes. All clothes will be donated to the Capital City Rescue Mission and Canned Goods will be delivered to The Food Pantries.

During ASBO's tables, students who donate an article of clothing or canned good enter a raffle for a free meal sponsored by the local Bellini's Counter.

"ASBO is very excited to begin collecting donations to benefit those in need. In my three and a half years at UAlbany and working with student groups, I realized how important it is to make sure that you are giving back to the community. We hope that this effort will be contagious throughout the UAlbany community, and we can make a lasting impact," says Harlan Ginsburg, ASBO President.

In addition to ASBO, PINK UAlbany has also joined the donation efforts.

Last week, the girls tabled in the Campus Center, collecting donations while students who donated were entered into a raffle for a Signature Pink Brand Perfume, and given coupons to PINK Victoria Secret, which is located at the Crossgates Mall.

"PINK is so happy to collaborate with MASH and ASBO to collect canned foods and clothing in an effort to help the community. It is great that we can give a small thank you to those who donate in a shape of a PINK coupon book they can enjoy!" Says Alyssa Budke, PINK UAlbany representative.

For students who are interested in donating spare clothes, accessories, and canned foods, ASBO and PINK UAlbany will be tabling this Wednesday from 10-4 in the Campus Center. Come help out our community by donating anything you can to the cause!
